CASSANDRA’S POV.

I stood up and walked to Emmy. “What could be wrong with him?” I fidget.

“Emmy.” I called softly taping him. But he was still ans and cold.

I tap him again and again getting scared 😳

He was unconscious laying facedown closed to the place he gag out blΓΆod.

I become nervous, anxious and agitated.
“Emmy please wake up please” I got choked up.

I snuggled beside him. Then positioned him face-up.

I slipped into my bathrobe, tying the rope well.

I headed to the bathroom, filled a small bowl with warm water, and grabbed a napkin.

Returning to the bed, I dipped the napkin into the water, wrung it out tightly, and gently cleaned his blōody mouth.

This time, his breathing was eerily silent, a stark contrast to the labored gasps I’d heard earlier. His condition had taken a devastating turn for the worse. When I finished cleaning his mouth..

I know someone is actually after his life, don’t tell me how I get to know.

“I am Cassandra.”

I have my way of finding out things. Someone out there wants to strongly disgrace me, I sneered.

I stood up and strode to my closet, bringing out a whitish powdered chārm given to me by my baba all the way from Nigeria.

I walked to the bed, turned off all the light bulbs, closed the curtains, and windows.

Once I finished, I sprinkled the whitish powder in a circular pattern on the floor.

Next, I retrieved two red candles and a lighter from my bed drawer, lit them, and slipped on my bedroom slippers.

Closing my eyes, I centered myself and connected my heart with the Earth deity.

As I breathed in the tranquility, I began to chant ancient words, passed down through generations. The air vibrated with each syllable, resonating deep.

Just then I saw a tall figure taking Emeka deep into the forest. He was a step ahead of Emeka while Emeka was behind him.

I kept saying the enchantment loudly and more faster this time on.

Just then, I saw a tall figure taking Emeka deep into the forest. He was a step ahead of Emeka, while Emeka was behind him.

I kept saying the enchantment loudly, and more faster this time on.

You might be wondering why I didn’t take Emeka to the hospital instead.

That was because I felt a dark presence around him immediately after I touched him to turn him over. I instantly know it’s not ordinary.

“Come on, into your body, Emeka. You don’t belong with them; you belong to the world. Come back to life.
Come back to life.
Come back to life.”

I beckoned on him. He turned slowly around and faced me.

” Let’s go to back to rest,Emeka, follow me home. ” The faceless woman who was taking Emeka away said.

“You don’t belong with her, come back to life.” I urged him.

” This battle isn’t for you to fight, Cassandra. He was betrothed to me from birth; he’s my husband. I’m the reason for his big gbola.

” I left him in the world so his gbola will be big like that of a pistol used for p******g yam, and be mature like that of a thousand years old mahogany tree,
before I can take his life. But seeing him giving my thing to mortal men is so disheartening. I am taking him with me.”
