I walked back to the room and..
Told Amaka to pretend as if she’s my cousin.

Well it was because.. I don’t know the perfect lie to tell Madam Cassandra that she will believe me if she gets to see Amaka in my room.

Also in my clothes.

Gawrd this my big gbola no go land me for trouble oo!” I fidget.

“How can you tell me to pretend to be your sister?” Amaka asked pissed.

“Look! that lady by the door is my boss and if she get to know I have a girlfriend then am good as dead.” I said almost in a whisper to Amaka.

“Fine, anything for you.” She grumbled.

“Thanks for understanding.” I uttered.

I opened the door to let Madam Cassandra in. “Good evening, ma’am,” I greeted her.

She gave me a suspicious look. “Since when did you start ignoring my knocks, Emmy?

I walked to the door and opened the door for madam Cassandra.

“Good afternoon, I mean good evening ma’am.” I greeted.

“Since when Emmy.” She asked giving me a suspension look.

“Uhm..hummmm.” I stuttered.

“Have you become dumb? I’ve been knocking for couple of minutes now and you didn’t answer. Are you okay?” She asked, pushing me aside to enter the room.

I stuttered, trying to come up with an excuse.

Madam Cassandra looked around the room, but Amaka was nowhere to be seen.

I was surprised too – I thought she was still in the room.

Madam Cassandra walked into my bathroom, and my heart started racing.

I remembered Amaka had left her pants there, but they were gone now.

“Are you looking for something, ma?” I asked, trying to sound calm. “Just checking if you’re as neat as you seem,”

she replied, inspecting the bathroom. I wondered where Amaka had hidden her pants – I could have sworn she left them in the bathroom.

“I could bet I heard you speaking to someone.” She said.

“No I was only playing a game on my PC. I was so engrossed and soliloquizing that I didn’t hear your knock on time.” I lied.

“It better be true if I find out your are hiding something from me I won’t pardon you.” She said.

“Am not lying ma.”

Madam Cassandra gave me a stern look, her eyes narrowing slightly as if daring me to defy her. I held my ground, trying to appear nonchalant despite the guilt brewing inside.

..Amaka’s presence was still a secret, and I hoped she remained hidden until Madam Cassandra leaves

“Alright, Emmy. I trust you… for now,” Madam Cassandra said finally, her tone softening slightly. “But remember, I’m always watching. Don’t think you can deceive me.”

I nodded, relief washing over me. “Yes, ma. I undersand.”

Madam Cassandra turned to leave, then paused at the door. “Oh, and Emmy?”

“Yes, ma?” I replied, my heart skipping a beat.

“I drop by to take you somewhere. So get prepared I’ll be in the Living room with your mom waiting for you.” She said.

With that, she exited the room, leaving me feeling both relieved and anxious.

Amaka emerged from her hiding spot which was my wardrobe, giving a questioning look on her face. I mouthed “later” to her, and she nodded, understanding.

I quickly dressed up and hurried downstairs leaving some cool cash with Amaka.

I got downstairs and met Madam Cassandra almost done eating with my mom.

“Mom you are back?” I asked.

“Yes Emeka, did you see the big bull bag of rice and one gallon of grand nut oil madam Cassandra bought for me. Thank her for me oh.” Mama said joyfully.

I just stared at Cassandra who smiled at me..

If only my mom know that is my gbola that’s bringing us this goodies she will be worshipping my big gbola πŸ₯’ I thought.

“Thanks ma for all you’ve done for my mom and I, may God bless you.” I said.

“It’s nothing, Emmy, let’s get going okay?” She uttered.

“Uhm, Emeka has Ama….

“Yes.” I cut her short I know she wanted to ask about Amaka. I can’t afford to get caught now after successfully depending myself.

Few hours later.

I had been on the car for almost two hours with Madam Cassandra.

I wonder where she’s taking me to.

“Are we not there yet?” I asked as the road was becoming deserted and busy as if we were going to a village.

“Fine, Emmy I’m taking to a herbalist.. I need to secure this relationship. I can’t afford to share you with anyone, so I need the herbalist to do some…
