Description
What started as ordinary family visits slowly turned into a beautiful love story nobody expected. Aisha and Abubakar grew up knowing each other as cousins, but destiny had a different plan for them. Through family gatherings, laughter, prayers, and years of friendship, love quietly found its way into their hearts.
Would their families accept their feelings, or would tradition separate them forever?
CHAPTER 1
The afternoon sun shined brightly over the compound as Aisha stepped out of the car beside her mother, Zainab.
“Greet your uncle properly,” her mother whispered.
Aisha adjusted her hijab and smiled softly before entering the house. It had been years since they last visited the family in Kano.
Inside the sitting room, laughter filled the air.
Then she saw him.
Abubakar.
Tall, calm, and more mature than she remembered.
“Aisha?” he asked with surprise.
She smiled shyly. “Abubakar… you’ve changed.”
He laughed. “And you haven’t?”
Everyone in the room laughed softly as they exchanged greetings.
That evening, the whole family sat together eating and sharing stories. Abubakar kept stealing glances at Aisha while pretending to focus on his phone.
For the first time in years, something felt different between them.
Something neither of them could explain.
CHAPTER 2
The following morning, Aisha woke up early for Fajr prayer. As she walked quietly toward the sitting room, she noticed someone already there reciting the Qur’an softly.
It was Abubakar.
The peaceful sound of his recitation made her stop at the doorway.
After prayers, he looked up and smiled.
“You still wake up this early?”
Aisha smiled. “My mother would never allow laziness.”
They both laughed.
As days passed during the visit, they became closer. They talked about school, dreams, family, and life.
Abubakar discovered Aisha was kind-hearted and intelligent.
Aisha realized Abubakar was no longer the playful boy she once knew.
One evening, while helping her carry a tray to the kitchen, their hands touched accidentally.
Silence.
Their eyes met.
And for a moment, the world around them disappeared.
CHAPTER 3
A few weeks after the visit ended, Aisha returned home — but she could not stop thinking about Abubakar.
Then one night, her phone vibrated.
UNKNOWN NUMBER
“Assalamu alaikum, Aisha.”
Her heart skipped.
It was Abubakar.
From that night, their conversations became more frequent. Sometimes they talked about life, sometimes religion, sometimes their future dreams.
Months passed.
Then one evening, Abubakar finally spoke to his father.
“Father… I want to marry Aisha.”
The room became silent.
His mother, Sadiya, looked at him carefully before smiling softly.
“If she brings you peace, then we will support you.”
Abubakar lowered his head with relief and gratitude.
But he still did not know if Aisha felt the same way.
CHAPTER 4
One Saturday afternoon, Aisha sat beside her mother, Zainab, helping her arrange clothes when her father, Muhammed, entered the room.
“We have visitors coming tomorrow,” he announced.
The next day, Abubakar’s family arrived.
Aisha’s hands trembled slightly as tea was served.
Then Abubakar’s father spoke calmly.
“We came with respect and good intentions. Our son wishes to marry your daughter.”
Aisha lowered her head immediately.
Her mother smiled.
Her father remained quiet for a few seconds before finally speaking.
“If this is what they both want, then we shall pray for Allah’s blessings.”
Tears filled Aisha’s eyes.
Abubakar smiled quietly from across the room.
At that moment, what began as ordinary family visits became the beginning of forever.
FINAL CHAPTER
The wedding day arrived beautifully.
Family members filled the venue with joy and prayers. Friends congratulated the couple as Aisha sat elegantly beside her mother, Zainab.
Abubakar could hardly hide his happiness.
After the Nikkah was completed, everyone shouted prayers and congratulations.
As they finally sat together later that evening, Aisha smiled softly.
“Who would have thought our childhood visits would end like this?”
Abubakar held her hand gently.
“Maybe Allah wrote our story long before we understood it.”
- And together, surrounded by love, family, and blessings, Aisha and Abubakar began a new chapter — not as cousins visiting each other…
…but as husband and wife forever.
