Chloe’s Pov
I’ve been scared by many things in my life, but one of the scariest experiences is being chased by a dog. Unfortunately, I’ve had a bad experience with a dog before. A dog chased and bit me, leaving a lasting impression β but that’s many years ago. Another thing that scares me is being threatened. I believe that fear is a basic human emotion that should be treated with respect. It’s not good to play with people’s feelings or try to intimidate them. Everyone has their own fears, and it’s essential to be understanding and empathetic towards others.
After attending the last nightclub concert at Coda with my friend Sontee, I went home feeling awkward. Looking back, I realize that it wouldn’t have happened if I hadn’t answered Liam in the first place. When Liam approached me and made a friendly proposal to dance with him, I quickly accepted. At that moment, I was motivated by the energetic atmosphere of the dancing crowd and the lively songs played during the concert. It’s funny how one decision can lead to a completely different outcome. If only I had said no to Liam, I probably would have avoided that awkward feeling. But I guess that’s all part of the experience.
I took a chance to play matchmaker in what seemed like a love-at-first-sight moment between Sontee and a random guy. We were all having fun, but I’m not sure if they talked or hung out after that. To be honest, I shouldn’t get involved, but the guy was really cute β and those piercing blue eyes were hard to ignore. It would be a shame if Sontee let him slip away.
Liam and I blended into the crowd to dance together on the big dance floor. Normally, I’d just stay idle because I’m shy, especially when it comes to dancing. But with everyone else dancing, I couldn’t help myself – I danced excitedly with Liam, my partner on the dance floor, screaming at the top of our voices. After dancing for hours with Liam, we finally stopped to rest. We sat together, smiling brightly and holding hands. We even leaned each on other, chatting like we were couples. We were both exhausted but happy.
Chloe: (giggles) Oh, that was a blast!
.
Liam: Absolutely! But now, I’m feeling aches in my butt. Honestly, I don’t understand why my butt hurts so much. It feels like it’s on fire, Chloe.
Liam made a playful pun, and we both burst out laughing. I leaned my head on his shoulder, enjoying his jokes, and he gently placed his cheek on my head.
Chloe: (still laughing) Hahahaha! What’s the reason? There’s only one reasons why it aches.
.
Liam: (drags the word) Okay…
.
Chloe: I think I know why your body aches. One reason could be that you’re a first-time dancer. As a beginner, you’re more likely to experience some discomfort or soreness in your buttocks and other muscles. This is because your body isn’t yet accustomed to the new movements and demands of dancing. I presume you’re a first-time dancer, Liam. Right?
.
Liam: You’re absolutely right, Chloe!
.
Chloe: And I’m glad to know that.
.
Liam: The plain truth is that I don’t like dancing at all. You can make fun if you want to, I’m just being honest.
.
Chloe: Oh, come on! Why’d I do that? But… what!?
.
Liam: Yeah, my dislike for dancing started when I was a kid. In fact, I used to run away from anything related to dancing, including music
.
Chloe: You don’t like music, too. Really? Please, what are you?
.
Liam: (chuckles) I’m just an ordinary person. I get it. it’s quite surprising β I’m just not into dancing or listening to music. I don’t see anything wrong with that. I’m just being myself. I’m actually a movie buff and prefer going to the gym to relieve boredom rather than dancing.
.
Chloe: So, what brought you to the concert, despite not being a fan of dancing and music? If I recall, you were almost dancing like Chris Brown just minutes ago.
.
Liam: (chuckles) Funny enough, I’d have just walked away and do what I love best. But since I was feeling delirious, I decided to celebrate and have fun.
He replied, lifting his head off mine, and I tilted my face up close to his, looking deep into his eyes. My head was still resting on his shoulder. He scanned my face and lips as our eyes locked in a close gaze. I realized our bodies were leaning against each other, and I couldn’t help but wonder, what’s happening between us? I couldn’t believe we’d been leaning on each other the whole time β someone I barely knew. We were even holding hands.
Liam: Err.. Sorry, that was a grave mistake… I mean I shouldn’t have…
.
Chloe: No! It — it is fine. I should be the one apologizing.
I interrupted, fidgeting with my fingers and clasping my thighs together on the couch, my head hung low. A dead silence enveloped us. I couldn’t help myself; I glanced to my left and giggled. There was nothing that made me giggle more than the “grave mistakes” he’d added to his words, especially the quizzical way he’d said it. God, it was hilarious! Still giggling, I covered my mouth and looked away, trying to compose myself. At that moment, he briefly touched my arm and asked out of curiosity, lifting his hand off me.
Liam: Are you okay, Chloe?
.
Chloe: Ahem… why not?
I cleared my throat and answered, barely meeting his gaze. I cleared my throat again. Silence fell between us once more. To reassure him that I was okay and wasn’t having second thoughts about what had happened between us β which, after all, was a mistake β I broke the silence and gestured with my chin towards the lively crowd on the dance floor.
Chloe: Hey! They’re captivating, aren’t they?
.
Liam: (smiles) Yeah! From the looks on their faces, it is concise they’re so thrilled to be part of the concert. I mean look at how elated and euphoric they are. Even the energy on the dance floor feels so electric (laughs a little) Hahahaha
.
Chloe: (gaze and smiling) What? Oh! Let me guess, you remembered something?
.
Liam: Oh, my God. How did you know?
.
Chloe: Trust me, Liam. I know such a reaction when I see one. So… can you share what you recalled with me?
.
Liam: Sure! I was going to share this with you anyway. But first, promise me you won’t laugh. What I’m about to tell you might sound a bit awkward, but keep in mind it happened many years ago when I was much younger.
.
Chloe: Go ahead, Liam. I promise not to make fun of you, I’m being honest.
.
Liam: It’s okay if you make fun of me. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit this… One time, when my friends called me to dance at a party at their house, I made a quick escape β literally! I ran out of the house and jumped over the gothic picket fence in their backyard.
.
Chloe: (surprise) Seriously? You jumped over the fence? That’s hilarious! I totally get why you’d want to avoid dancing, but you could’ve just said you weren’t interested. No one would’ve forced you to dance!
.
Liam: (chuckles) You’re absolutely right, Chloe. But I was just a kid back then. I didn’t have the confidence to speak my mind. Even if the words did cross my mind, who knows if I would’ve had the courage to say them? (sighs) Honestly, Chloe, your words really touched my heart. I was expecting you to tease me after I shared that story, but instead, you offered kindness and understanding.
.
Chloe: Hold on! You’re mistaking me for someone else. I promised not to make fun of you, remember? Besides, you were just a kid back then. I wouldn’t dream of judging you for your choices. It’s your story, and you own it.
.
Liam: Thanks, Chloe!
.
Chloe: Oh, stop it, Liam! (sigh smilingly) God! I had an amazing time.
.
Liam: Well, the concert hasn’t ended yet, and there is still time to have amazing moments in your life. Ever since we left the dance floor, I’ve been curious about you. Do you’ve a Ph.d in dance?
.
Choice: (smile reflexively) Why do you ask?
.
Liam: Because you’re definitely a doctor of moves.
.
Chloe: Stop buttering me up, Liam. I’m not that good. What you saw back on the dance floor was just a glimpse of my excitement. It’s definition and scent. Unlike me, you’ve a great rhythm. You were dancing like Michael Jackson himself. I doubted it you weren’t him.
.
Liam: Look into my eyes, Chloe! I’m telling you this from the heart. Your dancing is truly mesmerizing. You’ve a real talents for it, you don’t just know that. (Chuckles) I’m not sure what’s more contagious, your smile so your dance moves… either way, I caught it. And I’m still catching it..
He complimented me with genuine sincerity and affectionate attention. His words made my heart flutter as I gazed deeply into his piercing blue eyes, searching for any sign of insincerity but finding none. I couldn’t help but glance to my left once more, shyly, before breaking into a bright smile. I felt my face flush with affection, but all I could feel was gratitude and a sudden thirst for a drink.
Chloe: Um… Thanks so much, Liam… Lβlet’s have a drink!
I said, as I reached for a beer that didn’t belong to me, sitting on the table in front of me. Oddly enough, Liam disagreed.
The next morning, I woke up to find myself in bed, yawning loudly and shielding my face from the sun’s rays streaming through the window. As my vision cleared, my eyes landed on the grey gown I’d worn to the club concert the night before. I wondered, how was I still wearing it? It was a surprise, since I always changed into nightclothes before bed. This was a first.
As I got out of bed, the room’s sight surprised me even more. I knew it wasn’t my room. My room is modern and stylish, with a cohesive color scheme and sleek furniture. But this one was old-fashioned. The shelves were packed with books, and there were old antique decorations and furniture everywhere. The walls had old photos of scholars and philosophers, giving the room a really vintage look. I saw pictures of Albert Einstein, Leonardo da Vinci, and other famous thinkers. The room felt like a library or a study, not a bedroom. I wondered whose room this was and how I ended up here.
The room itself showed how studious the person was. I got lost in thought, staring at the photos on the wall and wondering where I’d been all night. As I stood there, my stomach started growling loudly. Just then, I caught the delicious smell of food cooking somewhere. Whoever was cooking, they were really good at it. The more I sniffed the aroma, the hungrier I got. My stomach growled even louder, making me feel like I needed to eat right away.
Out of curiosity, I slowly left the room, closing the door gently behind me. I sneaked glances at the things in the parlor, which had old furniture just like the room I was in. The parlor smelled amazing, like savory chicken, and my mouth started watering. Then, a white guy with a nose mask and a light blue apron came out of the kitchen carrying a big tray with fried chicken. He looked me up and down, but then looked away. Who is this guy? I just stood there, watching him as he put the tray down on the dining table. Then, he turned to me and asked politely in a familiar voice, pulling out a chair.
Liam: Good morning. I’m so glad you’re awake. Please, come and have a seat.
.
Chloe: Sorry, please. Who are you? And… Where am I?
I asked him, fidgeting with my fingers and staring at the steaming fried chicken on the dining table. He replied as he headed back into the kitchen, this time with an empty tray.
Liam: Oh, who am I? And where are you? You’ll soon know enough, dear. Okay? Please, have your seat.
As much as I’d like to own an answer, I couldn’t help myself but sit at the front of the chicken on the table, looking at it in a lockful gaze and the unknown guy came out of the kitchen and drop a small tray laden with two cold water, accompanied by two glasscups. To my surprise, it was Liam the whole time.
Liam: I believe you’ve gotten your answers now.
.
Chloe: Oh, Liam?
.
Liam: Yeah, it is me in the flesh. Seems someone is surprised?
.
Chloe: Absolutely… Confused!
Surprisingly, I answered as I found myself staring at his face like he was on TV. The attraction I felt towards him was sudden and unlike anything I’d felt before. My mind wandered, wondering if this was the same Liam I met and chatted with last night at the club. He looked charming and cuter than I remembered. Or was I dreaming? Aside from his enchanting appearance, he had a warm expression and a beautiful smile that drew me in, not to mention the dimples on his cheeks. I realized the disco lights at the club must have hidden his charm. As attracted as I was, I needed some genuine answers from him.
Liam: I know, alright? Don’t get confused. I want you to take a deep breath and chill out… Chill!
.
Chloe: (exhales) Phew! Alright, tell me what I must know. How did I end up here?
.
Liam: I know you’d ask. Last night, you got drunk and….
.
Chloe: And?
.
Liam: And I recalled warning you not to take that shot…
.
Chloe: And?
.
Liam: I brought you to my uncle’s home. This is actually his house.
.
Chloe: And?
.
Liam: And that’s all. Look Chloe, I understand where this conversation is going, but I assure you, nothing happened between us. I’m not foolish enough to cross that line. Believe me, I would never stoop that low…
I fixed my eyes on him intently, hoping to find any sign that would prove him wrong. But there was nothing I could use against him. All I saw was sincerity in his eyes. Besides, I didn’t feel any discomfort in my body to suggest that his words were false.
Chloe: Do you’ve a spare toothbrush in the house I could use?
I asked and he nodded in an instant.
Liam: Give me a seconds
Liam requested, then walked ahead into the kitchen. In a matter of seconds, he was back with a new toothbrush, carefully handing it over to me.
Liam: Here it is!
.
Chloe: (collects it) Thanks, where is the loo here, please?
.
Liam: Behind you, the middle door!
.
Chloe: Gotcha. Thanks!
A few minutes later, I came out of the loo, cleaning my mouth. Liam was in the kitchen washing dishes, even though he hadn’t eaten yet. Like anyone else, I thought he could have waited to finish eating before washing the dishes. I wondered how people make some decisions. Seeing how busy he was in the kitchen, I snuck in to grab a chicken wing from my plate and took a bite before putting it back. Then, I entered the kitchen.
Chloe: Well done, Liam. I see you’re busy here.
.
Liam: Thanks, Chloe. I’m almost finish… (Retorts) Yes! Finally finished! Now, let’s settle Ms. Chloe herself.
I chuckled at his pun as he arranged the dishes carefully in their specific places, perched on the sink, and folded his arms across his chest. He measured me with his eyes for a while.
Chloe: You know, I thought you’d show me where to put the toothbrush or collect it from me. I could’ve just asked where to put it. But then I saw your piercing green eyes on me. That’s making me feel uncomfortable, Liam. Why are you staring… at me like that?
.
Liam: I’m sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable… Please, can I have the toothbrush now?
.
Chloe: Of course!
I replied, walking up to him and handing the toothbrush over. His eyes seemed to look right through me. From his expression, I could tell there was something on his mind about me that he hadn’t shared yet. As I turned to walk away, he grasped my right arm, sending a shiver down my spine. His grip was tight and sudden. In that moment, I wondered what he was trying to do as my heart raced in my chest.
Liam: Sorry, there is a stain of toothpaste on the side of your mouth. It is just little. I want you to stay calm let me help you you clean it.
He spoke in a gentle voice as he wiped the stain with his thumb, our faces locked in close range. We shared a fleeting eye contact. What began as a brief glance turned into a longer stare, even after I tilted my head down to avoid his eyes. He raised my face by my chin, refusing to break eye contact, as if my eyes were the only thing comforting him. Next, he cupped my cheek with the same hand he had used to clean the dirt from my mouth, caressing it with his thumb, and spoke from his heart.
Liam: Earlier, you asked why was I staring at you like that? Do you want to know why? It is because you’re a vision of loveliness, a true work of art, Chloe.
Hearing that, I became fluttered and speechless. As far as I’m concerned, no one had ever complimented me like that, not even my own parents. I tilted my face down to hide my blushes, but he raised my face and closed the distance between us to lay a kiss on my lips. I must admit, his lips were kissable, the kind any woman could spend a day kissing. But his kiss was one of desire, as if he had been yearning for my lips for a long time.
Overpowered by powerful cravings, he pulled me closer with his arms around my waist in a tight grip, as if his life depended on having my body forever. He pressed his palms against my body. Feeling his hands on me made me squirm, and I was getting lost in his sensational touch and inviting lips. The kiss was sensitive, driven by all-consuming desire. I admit, he was a good kisser, pinning me to himself with his arms as our tongues collided intensely in our mouths. I could barely breathe.
Devouring my lips with kisses, he abandoned them and lowered his head, grazing his lips on my neck and down to my bosom. I felt a tingle down my spine and a sensation of melting, surging through my body. I couldn’t help but arch and press closer to his body, moaning as I cradled the back of his head with my arms.
Chloe: Oh, Liam…. S-s-stop!
I knew where this was going, but his lips grazing my bosom, down to my cleavage, fueled me with desire in an instant. Heat spread through my body, and even my heart rate and breathing quickened. The sensation surging through me was something I’d never felt before. So, this is what sexual intimacy feels like?
Feeling like I’d melted into his touch, he lowered his head between my breasts and spent his time stimulating my cleavage with his wet tongue in a circular motion. This made me squirm abruptly for minutes, my eyes closed. Stimulating my cleavage was overheating and overwhelming, adding a layer of pleasure to what I was already feeling. As he continued, I felt heightened by intense, pleasurable sensations spreading through my body, accompanied by a tingling sensation. The unfamiliar feelings were overwhelming, yet exhilarating.
My muscles contracted, my heart was racing, and my breath was accelerating. I couldn’t think straight, only concentrating on the sensation. My head was covered in beads of sweat as I felt a sudden buildup in my genitals. I found myself groaning, overcome by the intensity of the moment.
Chloe: Oh my God, oh my God!
As I approach orgasm, Liam didn’t stop or pause. It felt like a surge of information was flowing though my breasts to my genitals, preparing me to for what was to come. I gripped him tightly as I experienced my first orgasm. My sensitive area quivered intensely, and my legs trembled, feeling like they’d collapse. I leaned on Liam, who was still busy kissing my cleavage with his tongue. I felt lightheaded from the orgasm I had. Achieving orgasm for the first time should be exciting, but instead, I feel regret and shame. God! What just happened?
Liam: Stop, Liam!
I growled, pushed Liam, and walked out of the kitchen. As I left, I felt wetness in my pants from the intense orgasm. I walked out In anxiety, Liam followed, asking me what was wrong. I stopped, turned around, and looked at him with a upset expression.
Liam: Wait up, Chloe! Are you… are you okay?
.
Chloe: What’s with the romeo action in the kitchen? Trying to sweep me off ny feets or something?
.
Liam: Chloe… (paused)
He paused, let out a soft sigh, and hung his head low for a moment. Then, he looked me straight in the eye. He seemed to know he’d done something wrong and stood there, speechless and unable to explain himself. I demanded my car key in an unfriendly tone.
Chloe: Okay, Liam. I believe you brought me in my own car…
.
Liam: Yeah. But please, Listen…
.
Chloe: Liam, where is my car key? I need my car key now!
.
Liam: It is right there. But please, you’ve to…
.
Chloe: Thank you!
I retorted and walked with poise to a small table, where I picked up my car key. I also grabbed my heels, which were beside the armchair. Meanwhile, he called out to get my attention.
Liam: Chloe? Chloe?
I ignored him, despite wanting to stop and listen. But I couldn’t wait any longer. I walked out of his house and pressed the button on my key fob, unlocking my Lamborghini Aventador parked in the frontage. I got in and hit the road immediately. As I drove, my mind clouded over with thoughts of what had happened between us. Recalling it filled me with shame. What was wrong with me? Why hadn’t I just stayed home in the first place? As much as I hate to admit, especially what happened, his irresistible lips were enough to make anyone lose themselves in lovemaking. I wondered how I’d fallen so hard for his charms.
As I was contemplating, I saw a nearby store and decided to drive there. I pulled over safely and jumped out of my car, walking quickly into the store. For a few minutes, I browsed the store, looking for new underwear to buy. I wanted to change out of the stained one, which was making me uncomfortable. As soon as I found some, I picked the one I wanted and later bought a pack of Calvin Klein underwear. Then, I walked to the cashier, who helped me right away. After paying, I asked for directions to the restroom so I could change.
Minutes later, I was done and emerged from the store, feeling comfortable in my new underwear. Then, I drove off to see Sontee on her street. When I arrived, I spotted the random guy with blue eyes, whom I’d tried to set up with Sontee in what seemed like a love-at-first-sight moment. He was getting into a taxi. I pulled over, wondering what he was doing there, but I shrugged, thinking maybe he lived around there too.
I got out of my car, which drew attention on the street. Ignoring the gazes, I walked up to Sontee’s apartment and gently knocked on her door. But instead of a warm welcome, I was met with a threatening outburst that sent a shiver down my spine. She didn’t even care who was on the other side of the door. I’d known Sontee for a long time, and she’d always had a tough exterior that hinted a trouble and violence, especially back in high school. When she set her mind to something, she’d stop at nothing to achieve it. Regardless, she is cool as long as one treated her nicely. But from the sound of her voice, she was livid.
In no time, I fled her apartment in terror, a cold chill running down my spine as my heart racing. I couldn’t shake off thoughts of what had happened earlier – first with Liam, and now Sontee’s threatening outburst. I couldn’t stop replaying it in my head. I’d never experienced anything like what Liam and Sontee had done to me. It filled me with regret and terror all the way home. Four weeks has passed since then.
Tbc…
